PLUS Metadata Debuts in Adobe Products

Released in 2010, Adobe's Creative Suite 5 and Adobe Lightroom 3 include numerous PLUS metadata fields within the "IPTC Extension" file info metadata panels. These leading applications now provide read/write access of PLUS key image rights metadata, simplifying image rights management for millions of users worldwide.

Last year, the International Press Telecommunications Council (IPTC) standards body adopted the PLUS licensing standards, integrating a subset of the PLUS License Data Format fields and values into the latest IPTC photo metadata standards.
 
For users who wish to use the complete PLUS License Data Format standard, PLUS has developed a free plug-in "File Info" metadata panel for CS5, allowing read/write access to all PLUS fields.

In addition, PLUS and IPTC have partnered to develop and distribute a free application for viewing, managing, importing and exporting PLUS and IPTC metadata in Adobe Bridge for versions CS3 and above.

4A's joins the PLUS Board of Directors

American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A's) has joined the "Leadership Circle" of the PLUS Coalition, and will integrate the PLUS standards into their asset management system, Ad-ID.  With a 93-year history, the 4A's is the trade association representing the interests of advertising agencies. 

The PLUS Coalition welcomes the 4A's Senior VP for Cross-Industry Workflow, Harold S. Geller, to the Board of Directors of the PLUS Coalition.  An expert in asset management and digital workflow for advertising agencies, Mr. Geller is also Managing Director of Ad-ID, the advertising-coding system supported and authorized across all media by both the 4A's and the Association of National Advertisers (ANA).

In joining the PLUS Board, Geller says that “the PLUS standards allow advertising agencies and advertisers to more efficiently acquire and manage image licenses. We look forward to integrating PLUS standards into Ad-ID, which is used extensively by our members to manage all of their advertising assets."
